02. How does excel import work

Download the template

Product name and Article number are mandatory fields.

Important:

- Do not add columns

- Do not change column names

You can change the order of the columns

You may leave columns empty or delete them

 

Instructions:

  • This import function loads data from an Excel file to create new technical files and update existing technical files.
  • The supported Excel file formats are .xls and .xlsx
  • All new technical files are created with status pre-draft, your account will not be charged until you activate them.
  • Article number and product name are mandatory fields.
  • Download the template for a list of all available fields that can be imported.
  • The column headers as listed in the template are used to identify your data, do not change their name and do not add new columns.

Updating existing technical files:

  • PLEASE CHECK YOUR DATA BEFORE IMPORTING, UPDATING EXISTING FILES IS IRREVERSIBLE.
  • A technical file is considered existing if it matches on the combination of article number, market release date and supplier number.
  • If you do not include supplier number, the match is done on the combination of article number, market release date.
  • If there are multiple existing files, only the most recent one (based on creation date) is updated
  • The following fields will be updated (if data is provided):
    • Risk level
    • Brand name
    • Supplier article number
    • Project
    • PO number
    • Shipping number
    • File group
    • Required completion date
    • Supplier fields (except for supplier code)
    • Customer fields (except for customer code)
