“Kids In Danger (KID) is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to protecting children by fighting for product safety. The organisation was founded in 1998 by the parents of sixteen-month-old Danny Keysar who died when a portable crib collapsed around his neck in his Chicago home. Although the portable crib had been recalled five years earlier, word of its danger had not reached Danny’s parents”.
The very sad event that led to the creation of KID speaks volumes. It is important that KID’s well-intended initiatives are given a wide podium. Moreover, KID’s activities, and news items are very informative and indispensable for anyone buying or selling toys and other child-related products.
Although their focus is primarily on the US market, the risks addressed and lessons learnt are universal and not limited to any particular region. Therefore, we warmly advise you to follow KID and add it to your list of valuable resources on product compliance.
To be clear, ProductIP has no relation with, or stakes in KID.
