Selecting a product category

How to select a product category and complete creating a Technical file? 

The product categories are all in English language, so searching in other languages will not give you the right results.

You can find product category by using:

1. Keywords, aliases or a combination of both. If you search for more than 1 keyword, the system will search for each keyword separately. Not on the combination of words, as you might expect.

2. Test standards

If you search using a test standard, search using the number only, do not add EN, IEC or ISO, e.g. 71-12 or 60335-2-15

3. Product pictures

What can I do if I have doubts about a product category?

Copy the chosen product category and paste it into a search machine, e.g. google. Do the products found match yours?

What if I cannot find the product category?

1. Look in an existing file of the same type of article to see which product category has been chosen

2.If you have tried all above and still haven’t found the correct product category, you can select “Provisional” and our expert team will help you.

Then make sure you upload all available documentation; pictures, product information and manual or share a link to a comparable product.

This will simplify our expert team’s effort and shorten the response time.

The questions in the Q&A depend on the chosen category. Depending on the answer, a “requirement” will be added or not be added to the list.
