If you are an economic operator* for these products, product recalls can help you make better products and prevent problems with market surveillance authorities. 

1. Product alerts on desinfectants.

  • The first product is a chemical product, a hand desinfectant, sold under the name 'Summerday hand sanitizer': Barcode: 6954820601128, Batch number: 400-0578-116, Expiry date: 2023-02-26, QB/T 1975-2004. 
    The country of origin is China. Link to product alert
    The product is marketed as a hand disinfectant but contains an insufficient amount of ethanol (measured value: 16 % by weight). Consequently, it does not kill bacteria or viruses, which could then reach the user, increasing the risk of infection. The identity and concentration of active substances are not included on the label. The product does not comply with the Biocidal Products Regulation.

  • The second product is a biodical product, a desinfectant. It was sold under the name 'VADESEPT 110': Barcode: 5060422940259, Batch number: batch with exp. date 12/2022. 
    The ocuntry of origin is Croatia. Link to product alert
    The product has no biocidal active substance, therefore it can not act as disinfectant. Consequently, it does not kill bacteria or viruses, which could then reach the user, increasing the risk of infection. The product does not comply with the Biocidal Products Regulation.
    Measures taken by economic operators: Withdrawal of the product from the market (By: Distributor)

2. A list of particle filter masks.

  • The third (and last product) this week; a particle filter mask of unknown brand (of traceability is only known: Batch number:  Manufactured 10.05.2020). It was sold under the name 'KN95 Disposable Respirator'.
    The country of origin is China. Link to product alert.
    The product advertises a protective potential against viral particles but its filtering capacity has not been certified by a relevant European body. Consequently, the product might not fulfil the health and safety requirements and thus not properly protect if not combined with additional measures. The product does not comply with the Personal Protective Equipment Regulation and the relevant European standard EN 149.
    Measures ordered by public authorities (to: Retailer): Withdrawal of the product from the market
